Garren and Ally...

The story is less than the traditional, has a few twists, but ultimately one that kept leading them back to one another.

Ally and Garren met in December of 2016 where friends were celebrating on Ally’s birthday watching a Buffalo Bills away game at Bada Bing. Mutual friends of Garren and Ally suggested the two should meet and that they would hit it off after serendipitously being in the same bar. At first, Ally wasn’t convinced but the mutual friends insisted they meet and he showed up at the next location after the game, Colter Bay. Lauren & Mike Schiappa (now married), were right and Garren and Ally did hit it off and made plans to see each other again.

About a week later the two had their first date at Founding Fathers (love of casual dive bars) and the second date skiing at Holiday Valley in Ellicottville. On their way to skiing it was snowing hard. Ally tried to take a shortcut which landed them on an unplowed hill that they ended up getting stuck! Garren helped come to the rescue and dug them out with his snowboard. Talk about embarrassing second date but they laughed about it and brought them closer.

Right before the pandemic Ally and Garren sadly broke up and spent a couple years apart. During this time the two did a lot of soul searching and working on making themselves better individuals. The time apart and coming back together made them stronger.

The two have shared many great skiing adventures, dinner dates, friends weddings, boat days, concerts, pizza logs, Bills and Sabres games, holiday events, disco nights, trips to Toronto/Florida/Carolina/Colorado/Cabo, yoga classes, and more over the years together.

Finally the proposal...

Garren had suggested the two take Clarke (their adorable yellow lab) for a walk around Hoyt Lake on Tuesday, October 24 since the weather was going to be beautiful. That morning Ally woke up and had a feeling that day was the day. Of course she called Garren out but he remained stoic. How did she know!?

Needless to say, Garren was thinking about this day for months and had plans he was not going to alter! He convinced Ally it was a casual walk. The two walked around Hoyt Lake on the beautiful fall day enjoying their time but also joking about the potential proposal. Well jokes aside, it happened! Garren had stopped Ally on the trail, said a few sweet things about her and their relationship, got down on one knee and asked Ally to marry him.

The rest is history and here they are, looking forward to seeing what is next!
